A Wharton School of Business graduate and former Google employee, Hoodie Allen turned to his passion after university and a brief stint in an office job. "The Hype World Tour", named after his third album The Hype, came to Toronto on Saturday for a packed show at The Phoenix Concert Theater.
If you've ever been to one of Hoodie Allen's shows, then you know his performances are full of crowd interactions and surprises, which made this show a night to remember! The show opened with a set by Myles Parrish who set the upbeat tone for the show, followed by a set from Luke Christopher. Both shows included sing alongs, cheering and a lot of energy! Finally, Hoodie Allen took the stage and brought the crowd to life by opening his set with a performance of his new songs Believe and Sushi. The night included crowd surfing in an inflatable pool, a cake thrown into the crowd and a free t-shirt contest! Check out the photos down below for a peek into the concert!

Toronto natives Roy Wood$ and TRIPSIXX brought their show home to the Masonic Temple last week. Their tour which will visit 8 Canadian cities is in partnership with Hennessy Canada and Sidestage Presents. Fans lined up in the cold to get a prime spot for the intimate show and screamed in delight when they got on stage.
Some lucky front row fans got a drink served from TRIPSIXX's bottle of Hennessy and the night even ended with Roy Woods jumping into the crowd. Check out down below for some photos from the show! UTU artists and Toronto natives Roy Wood$ and TRIPSIXX kicked off their 8 city Ontario tour at The Music Hall in Oshawa last night in partnership with Hennessy Canada and Sidestage Presents. Hundreds of screaming fans lined up well in advance to score a spot on the stage to see Woods perform favourites such as Drama, Gwan Big Up Yourself and Instinct. Both artists recently released new work, TRIPSIXX with his Metal Gear Tape and Woods with Afterparty featuring Lil Yachty and Swaelee. by Jenna Hum Since 1981, The Casby Music Awards honoured independent and alternative Canadian music, a twist from regular award shows.
On Wednesday the crowed queued for the Casbys: The People's Awards, presented by 102.1 The Edge. The doors opened at 8 o'clock and people eagerly entered to snag the best viewing spot. You had the option to go to the back of the venue and have your photo taken in the photo booth, and the chance to win some Coors Light goodies. The night started off with a performance from Ascot Royals, who entertained the crowed with a mix of rock and indie vibes. They played several songs including their favourite, "Tectonic". After their set, the radio hosts Fred & Mel took the stage to present the first award of the night; Favourite Sugar Beach Session. The nominees included Bros, Current Swell, Matt Mays, Said the Whale, and Hollerado. The winner was Hollerado who surprised the crowd with their presence as they accepted the award. The three-piece band, Bleeker, consists of Mike on bass and brothers Taylor and Cole on vocals and guitar, respectively. The rock band took the stage with quick beats and an upbeat performance to match. they played their set and also had a little dance along with the audience. Shortly after, the Juno-award winning band, Dear Rouge, took the stage with their electric rock beats and a performance full of energy. After the performance, Kid Craig and Alan Cross, the latter who was decked out in a Tragically Hip hockey jersey, presented the award for Favourite New Record. The winner was Mother Mother who couldn't be there that night because they were on tour. Matt Mays, the indie rock singer from Nova Scotia took the stage and played a set full of head shaking and guitar riffs. To close the show, The Sheepdogs came on and the energy of the crowd was at an all time high and cheered along with a set full of guitar solos and heavy riffs. For the last song of the night, The Sheepdogs brought out Dear Rouge and Matt Mays to pay tribute to Tom Petty. The Casby Winners: Favourite New Artist
