Former Walk The Moon member, Adrian Galvin's solo project Yoke Lore embarked on a North American Tour, stopping in Toronto to perform a cozy set at The Garrison on Saturday night. The New York based singer played fan favourites off of his Goodpain EP including Beige, Goodpain and Only You while surprising the crowd with Fake Love, a brand new song he's only ever performed twice live. As concert goers started to file in, they were captivated by opener Vita and the Woolf's captivating performance. Check out more stills from the show below:
Husband and wife duo, Tennis, came to The Mod Club Theater last night. The band, singer/ Alaina and keyboard and guitarist/ Patrick, docked in the cold city for a sold out show. The show featured music from their new album, Yours Conditionally - a combination of indie-pop love ballads. The couple began writing music together as a way of documenting their voyages and living aboard a sailboat. Frontwoman, Alaina, was hospitalized during the band's stop in Detroit on Tuesday while shopping for breakfast in Whole Foods. She called it the "cursed tour from hell" after getting a viral infection on the first day of tour. During a speech mid-show, she said "There's a lot of love songs tonight, but this is for Pat, the guitarist, my husband. The only consistent thing I heard when I passed out was Pat; I love you, I'm here. It was the most moving, beautiful act of love. I've just learnt why I can write 1000 love songs and never exhausted them." The couple brought their all to the stage and left the crowd dancing and singing along with them. Our first show of 2018 brought us to The Danforth Music Hall for a nearly sold-out show from Petit Biscuit. The 18-year-old, French DJ who is most well known for his hit "Sunset Lover", released his second album in November. Just nine months ago he found himself in Toronto and performing at the Velvet Underground, this week he nearly sold out to a crowd of 1,500. Petit Biscuit's live performance was a mix of a visual and instrumental show. On stage, he uses his guitar while also mixing with electronic gear, behind him a white curtain that featured multi-coloured projections. Fan interaction was important for him and even encouraged the crowd to light up their phones for a song. Petit Biscuit will be in Montreal to perform at Igloofest on Friday, January 19th. It will be great and well worth checking out! Boston Calling delivered yet another killer (no pun intended) lineup for it's ninth year in a row including the comeback of bands that have kids who have grown up in the early 2000's swooning over. The 2018 festival season seems to be a big one for Eminem, who is also headlining Coachella and Governor's Ball, following the release of his much anticipated, Revival album. The Killers also released their fifth studio album, Wonderful Wonderful just a few months ago. Festival goers will also be in for a real treat with 12 time Grammy award winning Jack White on the headlining roster. Early-bird, VIP and Platinum VIP tickets are already on sale on the festival website in which attendees will have access to 3 days packed with 54 acts across 3 stages.
