X Ambassadors visited Toronto on Monday to celebrate the Horseshoe Tavern's 70th birthday. They brought with them Born Cages who started off the night with their hits such as Ain't Gonna Happen and Half Asleep. PVRIS performed at the Danforth Music Hall last week to promote their new album "All We Know Of Heaven, All We Need Of Hell". The show started with a set from Flint Eastwood who rocked out with her signature red hat. PVRIS took over show and performed crowd favourites including Heaven, St. Patrick and You and I. Billie Eilish, is a 15 year-old pop songstress from Los Angeles took over the Drake Underground on her Don't Smile at Me tour, promoting her first EP. Along with her brother, Finneas, they took over the stage and played to a sold out crowd. She performed several songs, including crowd favourites; Bellyache, Ocean Eyes and sHE'S brOKen.
The English rock band, Circa Waves, visited Toronto last week and performed at The Velvet Underground. The night started off with an opening set from indie-rock band Day Trip, who performed their newest single "Black Wolf". Circa Waves took the stage and opened the show with their new single, Wake Up, and performed fan favourites including Get Away, Stuck in My Teeth and Fire That Burns. Brooklyn reigned hip hop duo, The Underachievers (Issa Gold and AKTHESAVIOR) took on The Opera House by a literal storm on Tuesday night for their Renaissance tour, promoting their third studio album. The night started out with opening sets by Warm Brew and Injury Reserve before UA hyped the crowd up with mosh pits and fist pumping. Some crowd favourites of the night included Gold Soul Theory, Crescendo and Herb Shuttles. Hundreds of YouTube fanatics swarmed the streets of downtown Toronto last weekend for the 5th annual Buffer Festival. Directly following an eventful night of Nuit Blanche, Torontarians made their way to the Elgin Winter Theatres where some of YouTube's biggest names gathered to premiere their videos for the first time in their designated catagories in 8 different screenings. From Travel & Adventure to LGBTQ+ to Music to Vloggers to Short Films, there was something for everyone. Take a look at what happened! Samsung Canada, a premiere sponsor of the event, brought in self-made YouTube sensation Casey Neistat in to speak to the crowd of aspiring creators. Take a look at what he was up to here.
The New Jersey-born artist Cari Fletcher (known by FLETCHER) took over The Drake Underground last week on her first-ever headlining tour. She performed her viral hit song "War Paint" and "Wasted Youth" to a full crowd. She took the time to interact with fans and met them after the show! Besides having played 4 successful Lollapalooza shows (incl supports for Phantogram and Sylvan Esso), Flint Eastwood had a huge set at Bonnaroo and was the youngest artist invited to join the “Superjam” to perform “Get Up Offa That Thing” by James Brown with Preservation Hall and Jon Batiste as her backing band. On top of it all, she sang backing vocals for Chance The Rapper’s version of “Hey Ya”! At the start of the year, Flint Eastwood’s empowerment anthem “Queen” was released ahead of the Women’s Marches across the nation. In March, she was hailed as one of the breakout acts of SXSW.
